This Privacy Policy describes how TempoRec ("we," "our," or "the App"), developed as an offline-first utility, handles your personal information and data.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. TempoRec is designed with an offline-first architecture. This means your data, settings, and audio recordings remain entirely private, secure, and stored locally on your device.

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

TempoRec does not require any user account registration, profile creation, or login. We do not collect, harvest, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII).

A. Audio Recording (Microphone Permission)

To perform its core functions (recording your musical takes and vocal sessions over backing tracks or a metronome), the App requires access to your device’s microphone:

• Usage: The microphone is used solely to capture real-time audio input while you are recording a track.

• Processing: The audio signal is processed locally on your device to apply your chosen software recording gain (sensitivity multiplier) and mix it with the selected backing track or metronome.

• Privacy Assurance: We do NOT stream, upload, transmit, or share your live microphone input or recorded audio to any remote servers. All recording and processing happen entirely on your local hardware.

B. Local Storage & Recorded Files

To save and organize your musical takes, the App requires permissions to write files to your device's local storage:

• Usage: Your recorded takes are saved locally on your device as standard .wav audio files.

• User Control: You have full ownership and control over these files. You can preview, rename, share, or permanently delete any recorded take directly from the App's user interface or using your device’s file manager.

C. App Settings and Preferences

The App stores minor configuration preferences locally using standard secure client-side storage (e.g., SharedPreferences):

• Stored Preferences: This includes your selected BPM, time signature, metronome preferences, chosen app language, and custom font scale.

• This configuration data is stored locally and never transmitted to us or any third parties.

2. No Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

Because TempoRec is designed as a standalone offline utility:

• No Server Uploads: We do not operate databases, web servers, or cloud storage systems that collect or retain your audio recordings or configuration preferences.

• No Third-Party SDKs: The App does not contain third-party ad networks, trackers, analytics, or behavioral profiling SDKs.

• Zero Sharing: We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any of your audio files, settings, or device information with third-party organizations.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

All data created in TempoRec remains on your device:

• Your Control: You can delete your recorded tracks at any time via the App's recorded tracks list.

• Uninstalling the App: If you uninstall the App, some locally saved recordings may remain in the App's designated system directories depending on your Android version's scoping rules. You can manually delete them using any standard Android file explorer.

4. Children’s Privacy

Because TempoRec does not collect, transmit, or process any personal information, the App is safe for users of all ages, including children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children.

5. Security

We take the security of your device and files seriously. By keeping all recording and processing strictly offline on your own hardware, we eliminate the security risks associated with cloud storage and remote data transmissions.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Since we do not collect any user contact information, we cannot notify you of changes individually. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
